RESOURCES & PUBLICATIONS

When the Public Education Association division of CEI-PEA was established in 1895, one of the central elements of its mission was to “stimulate public interest in the schools.” CEI-PEA continues this tradition by keeping the many stakeholders within public education informed about issues, challenges and accomplishments within public education. By providing the public with high quality, useful information and analyses, CEI-PEA’s communications and information efforts do more than stimulate interest, they create the groundwork for community dialogue and action to improve public schools. Explore CEI-PEA’s resources and publications:

  • Blogs – Through the Network of Independent Charter Schools, CEI-PEA hosts the Charter Notebook, a blog that provides insights, analysis and advice from experts in public education, particularly independent charter schools, on a range of topics valuable to all educators, including how to implement the Common Core to advance the mission of your public school, how to start your own charter school, effective budgeting strategies, and much more.
  • Message Boards – CEI-PEA recently launched Charter Post as a message board where educators, parents, community members and allies of independent charter schools can discuss issues and share resources. CEI-PEA also maintains private message boards for educators in our various school networks through such venues as the myPICCS portal.
  • Resource Library – Sponsored and maintained by the Network of Independent Charter Schools, this Resource Library provides downloadable articles, white papers, podcasts, abstracts and other resources that reflect current research and promising practices for public schools. The Resource Library is designed to provide you with practical research, information and tools to help your school succeed.
